At Archbishop of York’s C.E Junior School, our vision is encapsulated in the acronym PRIDE, which reflects our commitment to nurturing each individual to flourish, achieve, and live out Christian values. We strive to instil the following principles in our pupils: Positive, Respectful, Inclusive, Determined, and Engaged. These values are the foundation upon which our school community is built, guiding us in creating a supportive and enriching educational experience for every child.
As a Church of England school, we take pride in our Church School status. Our Christian ethos is woven into the fabric of daily life, fostering a sense of community, compassion, and understanding among our pupils. We believe in providing a holistic education that not only focuses on academic excellence but also on the spiritual, moral, and social development of each child.
Education, to us, is a partnership. We believe in collaboration between teachers, parents, children, and the wider community to create a nurturing and enriching learning environment. We encourage you to arrange a visit to witness our school in action. Seeing first-hand how we implement our vision and values will give you a true sense of the warm and supportive atmosphere we have cultivated.
I also want to take this opportunity to share that I am the Executive Headteacher of Bishopthorpe Infant School. Our close partnership and working relationship between Archbishop of York’s C.E Junior School and Bishopthorpe Infant School ensure the best provision for the children of Bishopthorpe. Together, we strive to create a seamless educational journey for our pupils, promoting continuity and excellence. Both schools are part of Yorkshire Learning Trust (YLT) creating a formidable partnership committed to enriching the educational experience for our local communities.
If you have any questions or if you would like to learn more about our school, please do not hesitate to get in touch. We would be delighted to meet you and are confident that you will enjoy your visit to Archbishop of York’s C.E Junior School.
We look forward to meeting you!
Kerry Davies, Executive Headteacher
