Serenity School Old Palace Croydon is looking to appoint an experienced and passionate Therapy Assistant to work as part of our supportive and collaborative team.
Serenity School Old Palace Croydon is a specialist educational setting that provides a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for both pupils and staff. As part of the wider Serenity Education Group Therapy Team, this role offers an exciting opportunity to support pupils with SEND to achieve their individual EHCP outcomes through targeted therapeutic and educational interventions.
Working closely with Speech and Language Therapists, teachers, support staff, families, and the wider multidisciplinary team, the successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting pupils' communication, learning, independence, and wellbeing. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people with SEND.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to deliver targeted therapeutic and educational interventions
• Assisting with the implementation of EHCP outcomes and individual support plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional, communication, and behavioural development within the classroom and wider school environment
• Monitoring, recording, and reporting on pupil progress, attainment, and barriers to learning
• Working collaboratively with therapists, teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support for pupils
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with children and young people with SEND within a school or educational setting
• Holds a degree in Psychology or a related field and possesses strong literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
• Demonstrates excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
• Is committed to inclusion, safeguarding, equality, and supporting positive outcomes for all pupils
• Is resilient, proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
