Serenity School Old Palace Croydon is looking to appoint an experienced and passionate SEN Teacher to work as part of our supportive and collaborative team.
Serenity School Old Palace Croydon is a specialist educational setting providing a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for both pupils and staff. The SEN Teacher will play a key role in delivering inclusive, engaging, and differentiated learning for pupils with a range of special educational needs. Working closely with the Headteacher, SENDCo, and multi-disciplinary teams, the post holder will support pupils’ academic, emotional, and social development while contributing to a positive and collaborative staff culture.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering inclusive, engaging, and differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with a range of SEN
Developing and implementing individualised learning plans and EHCP targets in collaboration with the SENDCo and therapists
Creating a structured, language-rich, and supportive classroom environment that promotes learning, wellbeing, and emotional regulation
Monitoring, assessing, and recording pupil progress to inform planning, intervention, and reporting
Working collaboratively with teaching assistants, parents/carers, and external professionals to provide joined-up support for pupils
We are looking for someone who:
Is an experienced and passionate teacher; applications are welcomed from both QTS and non-QTS teachers with relevant SEN experience.
Has experience of teaching pupils with SEN and a strong understanding of inclusive and differentiated practice
Demonstrates excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
Is committed to safeguarding, equality, and inclusive education
Is flexible, resilient, and able to manage workload effectively while working as part of a team
