About the Role
As our Link SENDCO Lead, you will provide leadership, coaching and quality assurance across a group of nurseries, supporting Site SENDCO Leads to deliver outstanding SEND provision.
Working alongside our Company SEND Lead ,Senior Management Team and Site SENDCo Lead within the settings, you will monitor SEND practice, oversee the Assess, Plan, Do, Review (APDR) process, support referrals and funding applications, and ensure statutory responsibilities are consistently met.
This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on practice, allowing you to work directly alongside practitioners while influencing SEND provision across the organisation.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Leading and promoting outstanding SEND practice across multiple nursery settings.
- Coaching, mentoring and supervising Site SENDCO Leads.
- Monitoring the quality of SEND provision and ensuring consistency across settings.
- Supporting practitioners with complex SEND cases.
- Overseeing the Assess, Plan, Do, Review (APDR) cycle.
- Supporting referrals to external agencies and multi-agency working.
- Reviewing SEND funding applications and monitoring impact.
- Delivering SEND training and professional development.
- Monitoring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice and EYFS.
- Analysing SEND data and producing reports to support continuous improvement.
- Preparing settings for Ofsted inspections and quality assurance visits.
- Promoting inclusive practice and ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
- SENDCO qualification (or working towards).
- Significant experience supporting children with SEND within Early Years.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS Framework and SEND Code of Practice.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring and communication skills.
- Experience completing assessments, observations and SEND documentation.
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills.
- A passion for inclusive practice and improving outcomes for children.
- Experience supporting EHCP applications and SEND funding.
- Experience working alongside external professionals.
- Knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks
