About this Role

Permanent Early Years Educator to work within our Federation of outstanding Nursery Schools.

Based in the first instance at Cherry Trees Nursery School.

The ideal candidate will have the relevant Early Years Level 3/4 or above qualification and early years’ experience.  They will have an understanding of how young children learn and be passionate about creating an environment that enables all children to make outstanding progress. 

They will embrace our philosophy that wellbeing of staff and children is at the heart of everything we do.

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum & Learning: Delivering play-based activities that foster learning and development in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements. This includes contributing to the planning and evaluation process and creating a stimulating learning environment
  • Safety & Welfare: Ensuring a safe, secure, and healthy environment and promoting the welfare of children. Completing Paediatric First Aid.
  • Observation & Assessment: Monitoring and assessing children's progress. Creating a Learning journal of their key children's progress.
  • Partnering with Parents: Communicating effectively with parents and carers regarding child development, routines, and progress and carrying out initial home visits.
  • Inclusion & Diversity: Supporting all children by implementing inclusive practices and respecting diverse backgrounds, gathering evidence and for IEPs, referrals and EHCNAFs.
  • Key Person Role: Acting as the primary point of contact for specific children, helping them feel secure and ensuring their individual needs are met.

  • Child-Centered Approach: Promoting a nurturing atmosphere that supports social, emotional, and physical development.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Demonstrating excellent verbal and written communication with children, colleagues, and parents and working collaboratively with fellow staff members to strive for best practice.
  • Reflective Practice: Regularly evaluating their own performance to improve pedagogical techniques.
  • Professionalism: Working within ethical, confidential, and professional standards and following all policies and procedures.
