About this Role

32.5 hours per week

39 weeks per year (term time plus 5 training days)

The brand new school is opening in September but there is an opportunity to work with pupils at their current setting and build relationship prior to September, if the right candidate is available and they are able to travel in the local area, initially.

There is also an opportunity for more hours if successful candidates would like an additional role as an transport assistant to support the pupils travel to school.

If any candidates have experience with braille or supporting those with a visual impairment, we would like to hear from you too, as we have a pupil registered who is visually impaired.

Wragby School is seeking to appoint a number of dedicated Senior Achievement Support Assistants to join our committed team of staff. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, is flexible, and is enthusiastic about supporting students' learning and well-being.

About the Role

As a Senior Achievement Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other staff to support students in and out of the classroom, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and occassionally covering lessons. You’ll provide group support, ensuring every child can access the curriculum and make good progress.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the learning and progress of students across a range of subjects

  • Work with students with additional needs to help them access lessons and build confidence

  • Support behaviour management and promote a positive learning environment

  • Assist with the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources

  • Build strong, respectful relationships with pupils, staff, and parents

  • Has experience working with children or young people

  • Is patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education

  • Has strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Works well in a team but can also use their initiative

  • Can step up and cover the class in the absence of a teacher
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils
