About this Role
Do you believe every young person deserves the opportunity to move forward?
At Muve Futures, we do things differently.
We provide 52-week, personalised Alternative Provision for children and young people aged 4–25, helping them overcome barriers, rebuild confidence and progress towards education, employment and greater independence. Through outcome-focused interventions delivered across homes, schools, community settings and online, our approach is centred on understanding each learner's individual needs and providing the right support at the right time.
We're looking for an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to champion inclusive practice across our organisation. This is a strategic and collaborative role, working closely with Regional Alternative Provision Leads, tutors, therapists, families and external professionals to ensure every learner receives the support they need to achieve meaningful and lasting outcomes.
This is a hybrid role, combining remote working with regular travel across our areas of delivery to support staff, attend multi-agency meetings and work directly with learners, families and partner agencies where appropriate. The successful candidate will ideally be based in the West Midlands or North West to support our current and planned areas of delivery.
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or the National Professional Qualification (NPQ) for SENCOs, or can demonstrate equivalent experience in strategic SEND leadership.
- Is passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.
- Has an excellent understanding of the SEND Code of Practice, EHCP processes and current SEND legislation.
- Can provide expert advice and guidance to staff on inclusive practice, assistive technology, reasonable adjustments and effective interventions.
- Has experience of working collaboratively with families, schools, local authorities and other professionals.
- Is confident contributing to EHCP assessments, annual reviews , PEPs and wider multi-agency planning.
- Can use holistic assessment and progress information to evaluate impact and continually improve provision.
- Is highly organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Shares our belief that Alternative Provision should be purposeful, outcome-focused and built around the individual.
What we offer:
- A hybrid and flexible way of working.
- The opportunity to shape SEND practice within an innovative and growing Alternative Provision.
- A supportive team that values collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Ongoing professional development and opportunities to influence organisational practice.
- The opportunity to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people across our communities.
Muve Futures is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks, satisfactory references and relevant safeguarding checks.
