This role will be class based in the EYFS but PPA and additional leadership planning time per week will be given.

Merchants Primary Academy is seeking an exceptional EYFS Lead to inspire, motivate and drive excellence across our Early Years provision. We are looking for a passionate practitioner who believes wholeheartedly in giving children the very best start, creating a nurturing, stimulating environment where every child can thrive.
As our EYFS Lead, you will shape high-quality learning experiences, model outstanding practice, and lead a committed team with creativity, ambition and care. Key responsibilities:

  • Evaluating pupils' progress, achievement and attainment, and report to the Senior Leadership Team/Head teacher  
  • Moderating with the EYFS team evaluate and consider next steps from the data including baseline data 
  • Being responsible to the Head for co-ordinating the work of the EYFS, supporting and advising as appropriate 
  • Establish good relationships, encourage good working practices and support and lead and coach teachers in  the EYFS. 
  • Monitor progress across the EYFS and ensure appropriate action plans are in place. 

Pay range: M1 - M6 - £32,916.00 - £45,352.00 plus TLR2A - £3,527.00 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development related to Early Years or leadership.
  • Excellent knowledge of child development and early learning pedagogy.
  • Creative, reflective, and committed to delivering an ambitious and inclusive EYFS environment.
  • A passion for nurturing children’s curiosity, independence, and love of learning.
