At E-ACT, we believe that excellent attendance is the foundation of outstanding educational outcomes. We are looking for a committed and proactive Attendance Officer to play a vital role in supporting our students to attend school regularly, engage fully in learning, and achieve their full potential. Drawing on strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a passion for supporting young people, you will work closely with families, staff, external agencies and local authorities to promote positive attendance and tackle barriers to learning.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Monitor, record and maintain accurate attendance data using SIMS, CPOMS and other relevant systems.
  • Identify and track attendance trends, patterns of lateness and persistent absence, escalating concerns where appropriate.
  • Conduct first-day absence calls and follow up unauthorised absences with parents and carers. 
  • Prepare attendance reports and provide data to school leaders and other key stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with pastoral teams, parents, external agencies and the Local Authority to improve attendance outcomes.

 

Pay range:

  • NJC 8 - 12 - £20,723.00 - £22,093.51
  • FTE - £26,824.00 - £28,598.00
  • 32.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
  • Permanent

 

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs including Maths and English grades 4-9 (or equivalent)
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with pupils and parents/carers
  • Ability to work effectively within a team
  • Ability to hold difficult conversations confidently and effectively
  • Ability to analyse and evaluate data to identify trends and issues
