About this Role

“RISE SPACE is Revolutionising SEND Education for aspirational learning, personal empowerment and confidence to shatter glass ceilings, reaching new levels of achievement with young people aged 16-25 years old. RISE prioritises understanding the whole person and uses this to inform the curriculum, programmes of support and to build a solid platform for future pathways.”

The successful candidate will be based at our RISE Wild provision, located in the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. The SENDCo role will support the Provision Lead, guide the RISE WILD team and ensure the delivery of high standards in Inclusive practice and SEND Processes, teaching, support, intervention, and guidance to help students overcome barriers to learning, engagement, and well-being. They will support a dynamic staff committed to providing effective and transformative education for young people, identifying needs, and creating holistic curriculums that nurture well-being, build resilient foundations for future pathways, and uphold standards in line with the SEND Code of Practice.

This role involves supporting and delivering an innovative curriculum that is adapted and modified to meet individual needs, outcomes, and aspirations in Land Based, environmental, animal care and equine pathways as well as academic elements, life / soft skills and preparation for adulthood. The curriculum will also develop the character, confidence, and independence of the young people who attend, while motivating staff, strengthening work-based and social links, and promoting productivity, happiness, balance, and opportunities for all - staff, students, and stakeholders.

 Do you have:

  • a firmly embedded understanding of Special Educational Needs, the SEND Code of Practice and innovative methods for identifying and removing barriers to learning, education, and community engagement?
  • the ability to work with a solution focused mind set, the ability to deliver and support others in delivering high-quality teaching and achieving strong outcomes for young people?
  • a passion for learning, education, and well-being?
  • the ability to model best practices?
  • a personalised approach to creating safe and enriching learning environments for young people while eliminating barriers?
  • imagination, enthusiasm, determination and an aspirational mindset?
  • a passion for driving change and shaping future pathways for young people?

This is an exciting opportunity to help develop our WILD provision.

We reserve the right to appoint before the application deadline, so early applications are encouraged.

RISE is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and expects all staff to share this commitment.  An enhanced DBS disclosure is required for this post.
