About this Role

Join Our Team at Roundhay School - Primary Campus!

Job Title: SEND Lead Teacher
Location: Roundhay School (Primary Campus)
Contract: Full-time

About the Role
Roundhay School (Primary Campus) is seeking an exceptional SEND Lead Teacher to join our dedicated and supportive team. Our shared goal is to ensure every child becomes ‘Recognisably Roundhay’—confident, capable, and fully prepared for their future beyond primary education.

We are proud to be a diverse, multicultural school community where every individual is valued. We warmly welcome applicants from all backgrounds, cultures, faiths, and religions—everyone belongs at Roundhay.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a developing specialist provision model supporting children with additional needs to access the mainstream curriculum. Building on the success of our first provision for Reception and Year 1, we are expanding with a second base for Years 2 and 3.

Our bespoke provisions, The Cove and The Harbour, provide nurturing, targeted support for pupils with communication and language needs, as well as social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges. The successful candidate will play a key role across both provisions, delivering high-quality teaching, targeted interventions, and personalised support to help children communicate, regulate, reconnect, and achieve.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching within specialist provision settings
  • Plan and implement targeted intervention programmes
  • Provide personalised support tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Foster an inclusive, nurturing learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals
  • Support pupils in accessing and engaging with the mainstream curriculum

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Be a highly skilled and knowledgeable practitioner
  • Be hardworking, positive, and enthusiastic, with a passion for excellence
  • Set high expectations that inspire, motivate, and challenge all learners
  • Build strong, positive relationships with pupils, particularly those with SEND
  • Work effectively with colleagues and parents
  • Embrace and celebrate diversity, reflecting our core value: “We Celebrate Diversity”

What We Offer
We are committed to supporting the wellbeing and development of our staff. The successful candidate will benefit from:

  • A comprehensive programme of continuous professional development
  • Access to the School Advisory Service, including free GP appointments, counselling, physiotherapy, and wellbeing support
  • Access to the Vivup employee benefits platform, including discounted car leasing and high-street discounts
  • A strong focus on staff wellbeing, with regular social events and initiatives such as visiting coffee vans
