About this Role

CARETAKER

Full-time

37.5 hours a week, 52 weeks per year

Salary £31,854.97 per annum

Required for 1 September 2026

We are seeking for a reliable, proactive Caretaker to join our Estates Team and help provide a safe, comfortable and well-maintained environment for our school community.

In this varied role, you will support the day-to-day operation of the School through room set-ups, event preparation and reactive maintenance tasks. The successful candidate will be organised, practical and able to work independently, with good DIY and maintenance skills. Previous caretaking or maintenance experience is desirable.

The role is based on 37.5 hours per week. While the normal working pattern offers consistency, some flexibility is required during term time to support the School’s events and functions programme.

A key requirement of the role is availability to work on up to 15 weekend days per year (Saturday or Sunday) to provide on-site operational support at events held at the Senior School site. In return, a day off in lieu will be taken during the same or following working week, agreed in advance with the Premises Manager.

The School plans weekend working requirements well in advance and, wherever operationally possible, will seek to provide two consecutive rest days to reflect a traditional weekend pattern and accommodate individual availability.

During school holiday periods, the working pattern will be Monday to Friday.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys practical work, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and wants to play an important role in supporting the School community.

Closing deadline: Friday 31 July 2026

Applications to be reviewed upon receipt and interviews arranged accordingly.
