Wellspring Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to act as a technical lead across our Trust estate. This is a pivotal role for an individual who thrives on precision, statutory compliance, and fostering a "safety-first" culture.
The Role
As our Health & Safety Officer, you will provide professional guidance and strategic assurance to ensure all our sites remain safe and legally compliant. You will be responsible for:
Statutory Compliance: Ensuring 100% adherence to regulatory standards through rigorous monitoring and verification.
Risk Management: Leading annual H&S audits across all Academies and acting as the lead investigator for incidents, ensuring full compliance with RIDDOR.
Strategic Leadership: Supporting a long-term H&S strategy and overseeing the Trust-wide training matrix to bridge skill gaps.
Asset & Contractor Oversight: Managing the end-to-end contractor lifecycle and maintaining precise technical logging systems for asset assurance.
Who We Are Looking For
We need an individual who can manage their workload effectively, identifying process improvements to optimise resources. You should be able to communicate tactfully with a wide range of stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
Qualifications: Professional H&S qualifications E.g. NEBOSH or Site Management Safety Training are essential.
Experience: Proven experience in a dedicated H&S role, ideally within education or a multi-site environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in ICT systems to track trends and identify ‘red flags’.
Driving Licence: A full driving licence is required to travel across our multiple sites.
