At Chiltern Way Academy Trust, we are dedicated to supporting young people with ASC and SEMH through innovative and nurturing education.  

We are seeking a Senior Catering Assistant  to join our Sefton Park campus.  This campus provides education and care for up to 70 young people aged 9-19 who have a history of  emotionally based school non-attendance (EBSNA), high levels of anxiety and significant gaps in learning due to disrupted educational journeys.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

·        To  undertake the preparations of all food including special dietary meals and serve the food to our students
To clean some parts of the premises and all of the kitchen equipment
To assist in basic paperwork
To give instruction to and supervise the Catering Assistant
To carry out regular stocktaking and issuing of stock as required
To be aware of the importance of hygiene and Health and Safety and be able to carry out corrective action as necessary should problems arise
To assist in providing refreshments for staff meetings in school, maintaining high standards of hygiene at all times
To assist in the training and development of catering staff
Reporting equipment or maintenance problems and energy leaks to the line manager in a timely fashion
To assist in the organisation of food service areas, ensuring proper standards of presentation at all times
All duties must be carried out to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the school’s published Policies and Practices documents
