Speech and Language Therapist (SEMH & Communication)

SMKT is seeking a dedicated
and compassionate Speech and Language Therapist to join our growing
multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for a therapist with a
passion for supporting children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental
Health (SEMH) needs.
Working across our schools,
you will play a vital role in helping students develop the communication,
language, emotional regulation, and social interaction skills they need to
thrive both academically and personally.
The Role
The successful candidate
will:

Assess, plan, and
deliver high-quality speech and language therapy interventions.
·
Support pupils with
speech, language, communication, and social interaction needs.
·
Work closely with
teaching staff, pastoral teams, families, and external agencies.
·
Develop strategies to
support emotional regulation, social communication, and positive engagement in
learning.
·
Contribute to Education,
Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and annual reviews.
·
Deliver staff training
and provide specialist advice to enhance inclusive practice.
·
Be an active member of a
collaborative multidisciplinary team.
We are looking for someone who:
·
Is a qualified Speech
and Language Therapist registered with the HCPC and RCSLT.
·
Has experience working
with children and young people.
·
Has an interest in, or
experience supporting, pupils with SEMH needs.
·
Understands the
relationship between communication difficulties, behaviour, emotional
wellbeing, and learning.
·
Is committed to
achieving positive outcomes for vulnerable learners.
·
Has excellent
communication, organisational, and relationship-building skills.
