About this Role

Trust Finance Apprentice

Salary: Thurrock Band A Point 1 - £24,413.00 per annum 

37 hours per week - Monday – Thursday 8:00am – 4:00pm, Friday 8:00am – 3:30pm (30-minute unpaid break)

52 weeks of the year 

Required: January 2026

2-year fixed term contract until 31st December 2027

Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to earn while you learn? We’re offering a Finance Apprenticeship that pays above the National Living Wage and gives you the chance to gain a Level 3 AAT qualification through the Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship with South Essex College.

In this role, you’ll be part of our friendly Trust Finance Team, supporting schools and the central finance function. You’ll learn hands-on skills while studying towards a nationally recognised qualification – setting you up for a successful career in finance.

What You’ll Do:

✔️ Process invoices and purchase orders for Trust schools.

✔️ Assist with finance queries and provide administrative support.

✔️ Learn to use finance systems and develop strong ICT skills.

✔️ Work closely with experienced finance professionals in a supportive environment.

Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.


South Essex College entry requirements:

·        5 GCSEs with Maths and English at Grade 5 / C or Functional Skills Level 2 English and maths

·        Good keyboarding skills are essential as well as a good knowledge of Microsoft Office.

·        Learners must have completed the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping, or the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, or have relevant work experience in double-entry bookkeeping.
