SET Leader of Education - Primary

Fixed Term for One Year

Pay Grade:  Up to UPS3 + up to £2k LoE allowance

Start date: September 2026 or as soon as possible

We are seeking to appoint an exceptional and inspirational Primary SET Leader of Education. This role is a fantastic opportunity to support teaching in our schools, and a great chance to join our existing team of Leaders of Education, contributing to the success of SET pupils across the entire trust. The role is part-time, up to 0.4 FTE.

SET is a cross-phase trust of thirteen schools across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and West Essex, educating nearly 10,000 pupils from nursery through to sixth form. Our vision is clear: to work collaboratively so that every young person in our care achieves more than they ever believed possible. Our values: Achievement, Care and Excellence (ACE), underpin everything we do.

The successful candidate will be an exemplary classroom practitioner with a proven track record of success and the ability to achieve the best outcomes for all pupils. They will have strong interpersonal skills and an excellent understanding of the National Curriculum, effective pedagogy and assessment. We are happy to accept applications from individuals with expertise in EYFS, KS1 or KS2.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for progression as we are committed to fully supporting professional development and helping our colleagues achieve their career potential. SET Leaders of Education are expected to travel to the different schools of the trust as necessary and their work is coordinated by the Director of Education.

If you are a motivated individual with a commitment to high standards and a passion for primary education, we would be delighted to hear from you!

Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Barring Service Check

Declaration of criminal offences

The trust is required to give you the opportunity to voluntarily declare convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings that are not ‘protected’ as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020). You will be provided with a criminal self-declaration form by the school if you are shortlisted for the post. All posts in schools are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are appointed you will be required to have an up to date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate.
