Deputy Headteacher (Robert Barclay Academy, Hoddesdon)
Full Time - Leadership Pay-Scale 18- 22 plus Outer Fringe Allowance and Trust Benefits
Required from: September 2025
Are
you an inspiring and ambitious leader with a passion for transforming
education? Do you have the vision and expertise to help us reach our bold and
exciting goal: ‘Every day, we look, feel and behave like the best school’?
Following the promotion of our current Deputy
Headteacher to Headteacher, we are now looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic
Deputy Headteacher to join our Senior Leadership Team and drive the next phase
of RBA’s development. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of our
school and make a significant impact on the education and lives of our
students.
As Deputy Headteacher, you will oversee and
strategically shape the ethos, values, and systems that ensure we deliver the
highest `quality of education’ possible. You will inspire both staff and
students, fostering a culture of excellence, growth, and ambition as we work
towards achieving our shared vision.
At RBA, we are committed to producing
responsible, confident, and forward-thinking young people who are ready to
thrive in their local, national, and global communities. We pride ourselves on
being an innovative and progressive school, and we’re looking for a leader who
shares that vision and is eager to lead us to new heights.
Why RBA?
If you have the energy, enthusiasm, and
leadership qualities to play a key role in driving RBA forward, we would love
to hear from you.
Join us, and help lead the way as we continue
to build a school that our students, staff, and community can all be proud of.
We would be delighted to show you around our
school prior to applying. Please contact Lauren Halls, PA to the Headteacher, to
arrange an appointment (01992 410800) or by email LHalls@robertbarclayacademy.co.uk. A full application pack is available.
RBA is committed to safeguarding and
promoting the welfare of children and the successful candidate will be required
to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
Diversity: The Scholars’ Education Trust is fully
committed to the principles of equal opportunity, diversity and inclusion. We want to attract and retain the very best
staff in all areas of the trust, ensuring our staff body reflects the diversity
of our students and local community.
RBA is also committed to becoming an anti-racist organisation.
In our relentless efforts to be an anti-racist organisation, we recognise the
negative impacts of under representation and lack of diversity in our
organisation, our education system and in all aspects of our society. To help
us meet our high standards and aspirations of a fully diverse and
inclusive workplace, we strongly encourage suitably qualified applicants from
all backgrounds to apply and to join us.
Please note that if you are invited to interview, we will
expect you to be prepared to discuss unconscious bias with us; we find these
conversations more than any others give us all a good idea of what working
together will be like.
Closing Date: 9.00am Thursday 1st May 2025
Interviews: Thursday 8th and Friday
9th May 2025
Scholars’ Education Trust is an equal opportunities employer. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
Declaration of criminal offences
The trust is required to give you the opportunity to voluntarily declare convictions, cautions, reprimands or final warnings that are not ‘protected’ as defined by the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (as amended in 2013 and 2020). You will be provided with a criminal self-declaration form by the school if you are shortlisted for the post. All posts in schools are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. If you are appointed you will be required to have an up-to-date Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Certificate.
