REAch2 Academy Trust is seeking a highly motivated Cluster Surveying Partner to join our dynamic Estates Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our schools, contribute to the development and maintenance of our estate, and collaborate with a dedicated team of professionals. The role is a mixture of working from home and visits to schools, typically you will be travelling into a school 3-4 days per week (variable).
This is a hands-on role covering condition and compliance surveys, maintenance planning and the delivery of minor refurbishment works, working closely with school leaders and the central Estates team to ensure school buildings are safe, well maintained and fit for purpose.
This role would suit a Building Surveyor, Estates Manager or refurbishment professional who enjoys autonomy, variety and working directly with end users.
Experience in education is helpful but not essential; experience in building, estates, compliance or refurbishment projects is desired.

What you’ll be responsible for
Condition, maintenance and compliance surveying across a cluster of academies
Producing cost estimates and short/medium/long-term maintenance plans
Managing and delivering minor capital and maintenance projects
Projects & technical work
Design, specification, tendering and contract administration
Managing contractors and consultants
Ensuring projects meet statutory, budget and time requirements
Working with schools & partners
Providing professional estates advice to Headteachers and site teams
Supporting inspections, audits and Trust transformation projects
Liaising with local authorities, regulators and external bodies
Schools that you will be working with:
The successful candidate will be:
• Educated to HNC/D level or hold appropriate professional qualifications.
• Be highly motivated with the ability to pick up new skills
quickly
• Have extensive, proven and demonstrable experience in the
assessment of maintenance requirements, along with the production of associated
cost estimates, technical detailing, tendering, contract administration and
project management
• Proficient in using the JCT Standard Forms of Contract
• Have practical knowledge, experience and understanding of
school building projects
Additional skills:
• A
full driving licence and access to a car is essential to the post.
• Possess good interpersonal and presentational skills.
• Will be able to develop and maintain positive
relationships with headteachers and academy staff through regular, timely and
effective communication.
• Well organised, efficient and able to work as part of a team as well as on their own initiative
• The ability to use AutoCAD would be a distinct advantage.
• Prior experience of ME projects would be an advantage but is not essential.
