About this Role

Vega College provides an innovative alternative education provision for Key Stage 4 students from across Doncaster. Working in partnership with mainstream schools, families and external agencies, we offer a highly personalised curriculum that enables students to continue studying their core GCSE subjects whilst developing employability skills through meaningful work-related learning and work placements.

We are committed to ensuring every student leaves Vega College as a confident, articulate and well-rounded young person, equipped with the knowledge, skills and resilience needed for further education, employment and adult life. Through high aspirations, high expectations and strong relationships, we create a nurturing environment where every student is supported to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

Guided by Leger Education Trust's vision of "Truly great students in truly great schools," we place the individual at the heart of everything we do, providing personalised learning pathways, exceptional pastoral support and opportunities that enable every young person to succeed both inside and outside the classroom.

Vega College is seeking a passionate, resilient, and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and student-centred team. As an alternative provision for Key Stage 4 students, Vega College provides personalised learning pathways, core GCSE education, employability development, and work-placement opportunities for young people who may have found mainstream education challenging.

We are looking for an individual who is committed to helping students achieve their full potential both academically and personally. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, learning mentors, pastoral staff, and external agencies to support students in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

The College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
