About this Role

Peterborough Diocese Education Trust (PDET) is a vibrant and growing family of academies across Northamptonshire, Rutland, and Peterborough. Committed to providing high-quality education with a distinctively Christian ethos, we work collaboratively to ensure that every child flourishes.

Our Trust comprises 35 academies, each benefiting from centralised support in areas such as finance, HR, estates, and school improvement. This allows our leaders and staff to focus on delivering outstanding education while ensuring resources are used effectively and sustainably.

As part of our award-winning finance team, our new Head of Finance will play a key role in both maintaining and enhancing the Trust’s reputation for excellence, innovation, and compliance in financial management. We are proud of the strong partnerships we have built with our academies, local communities, and the wider education sector, enabling us to make a real difference in the lives of the children we serve.

The Head of Finance is a strategic leadership role responsible for ensuring robust financial stewardship, driving financial performance, and contributing to the overall strategic direction of the Trust.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the successful candidate will lead a highly skilled finance team of 4, and a treasury team of 2. There are a number of other staff roles this position will be required to provide leadership to, in collaboration with the COO.

Further details can be found in the attached job description.
