About this Role

Even if your degree isn't in the subjects offered within the internship programme, if you have an A Level or relevant experience within your degree subject (e.g. statistics, gaming, number work, engineering), you could be eligible to apply for this amazing opportunity to try out teaching for yourself.

Aimed at undergraduates in their second, third or final years, and master’s students, who could potentially teach maths, physics, chemistry, computing, design and technology  and French, you will have the opportunity to work alongside teaching staff and pupils in an outstanding school.  Your internship will put you in the driving seat to make an informed decision as to whether or not teaching may or may not be the career for you.  There is no commitment to train to teach following the internship, this is merely an opportunity to try it out for yourself.

"I gained a great understanding of all elements of teaching and why teachers have such a passion for it."

Daisy, internship 2025

Should you decide that teaching is for you, we will support you along every step of the application process.  You will be in an excellent position to be considered for training vacancies within our partnership of schools.

Why not take a moment to listen to what one of our summer interns had to say?

Internships usually take place in the last few weeks of the summer term.   The window within which the internship is offered is between 8 June and 10 July 2026

Funded by the DfE, interns earn £455/week while working in an outstanding school.

You’ll get:

  • A subject buddy & professional mentor
  • Real classroom experience
  • Induction into school life
  • Support with future teacher training applications

No commitment—just a chance to explore teaching.
