About this Role

Join Our Board of Trustees and Shape the Future of Education!

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you want to help shape the lives of young learners and support schools in achieving excellence?  HEARTS Academy Trust is seeking new Trustees to join our Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) and play a vital role in guiding our primary schools toward success.

As a Trustee, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure the MAT delivers exceptional education.

  • Work collaboratively with a dedicated team to drive innovation and improvement in our schools.

  • Influence key decisions on finances, governance, and educational priorities.

We are looking for individuals who:

  • Share our commitment to improving educational outcomes for children.

  • Bring diverse skills and perspectives to the board (backgrounds in finance, HR, education, or law are particularly welcomed).

  • Have a desire to give back to the community and invest time in shaping a brighter future.

No prior experience as a Trustee is required—just a willingness to learn, engage, and contribute! We provide full training and support to help you thrive in this rewarding role.

We would particularly like to hear from you if you have legal experience.

What are we looking for?

Commitment to Education: A passion for supporting schools and improving educational outcomes for children.

Strategic Thinking: The ability to assess situations objectively, make informed decisions, and contribute to long-term planning.

Expertise and Skills: Individuals with backgrounds in finance, law, HR, education, governance, or business management can bring valuable insights.

Collaborative Spirit: An open-minded approach to teamwork, respecting diverse perspectives to drive collective success.

Community Engagement: A willingness to connect with and understand the needs of local communities and stakeholders.

Integrity and Accountability: A strong sense of responsibility, ensuring transparency and ethical governance.

Resilience and Adaptability: The ability to navigate challenges and adapt to changes in the education landscape.

Willingness to Learn: Enthusiasm for training and personal development to enhance their role as a Trustee.

Time Commitment: Approximately 6 meetings per year plus preparation time.
