Great Haddon Primary School

Great Haddon Primary School is a new 4 – 11 primary school which is due to open in September 2026 and will grow into a two-form entry primary school with a nursery. While the permanent school building is being completed, reception year pupils will be temporarily housed at Hampton College Primary Phase from September 2026 until its opening in early 2027.

 Class Teacher – Reception / Year 1

We are excited to invite applications for the role of Class Teacher at Great Haddon Primary School which is opening to pupils from September 2026.

 This is a rare and exciting opportunity to be part of a founding team, helping to shape the culture, curriculum and learning environment of a new school from the very beginning. The successful candidate will play a key role in building strong foundations for our youngest learners and establishing high expectations for teaching and learning.

The successful candidate will:

  •          Teach a mixed Reception / Year 1 class (depending on pupil numbers)
  •          Create a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  •          Deliver a creative, engaging curriculum that supports strong progress and positive outcomes
  •         Work collaboratively with the Head of School and colleagues to develop the curriculum, routines and school systems
  •          Build strong relationships with pupils, families and the wider school community
  •          Play an active role in shaping the ethos and values of a new school

 We are looking for someone who:

  •          Holds QTS
  •          Has a strong understanding of the EYFS and/or KS1 curriculum
  •          Is passionate about early learning and child development
  •          Has high expectations for all pupils and a commitment to inclusion
  •          Is reflective, adaptable and excited by the opportunity to shape a new school      
  •          Works well as part of a team and contributes positively to school life
