About this Role

Safeguarding Adviser

37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

GAT Grade 11: Salary point 34 £45,091 to Salary point 37 £48,226 per annum

To further enhance safeguarding practices across Greenwood Academies Trust, we are seeking to appoint an additional Safeguarding Adviser to join our established Safeguarding Directorate. This role will provide expert, professional safeguarding support and guidance to our academies.

The Role:

We are looking for a committed and passionate safeguarding practitioner to join our team. With a key focus on whole Trust safeguarding casework and an understanding of the relationship between safeguarding, SEND and inclusion across all phases, you will be:

 - Providing advice and challenge to Principals, DSLs and Safeguarding Teams across our academies to support with case work and practice.

Delivering comprehensive inspection support by reviewing data, analysing trends, and ensuring safeguarding compliance.

 - Implementing our safeguarding quality assurance program, evaluating strengths and opportunities for enhancement in accordance with statutory requirements.

The role will primarily support our Primary and Special phase academies although flexibility to support our secondary academies when necessary.

About You:

You will need to have experience of working in a safeguarding role and have sound, up to date knowledge of current safeguarding in education and child protection guidance and legislation as well as a collaborative management style in order to provide expert advice, guidance and training. Previous experience of a DSL role within education is desirable but not essential for this role.

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about safeguarding children and ensuring the best outcomes possible for all pupils across our Trust, and who can remain resilient when managing sensitive and complex issues. You will need to inspire trust and confidence in our academy safeguarding teams and therefore will need to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues working at various levels within the Trust.

Our academies cover a wide geographical area and therefore a clean driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential.

If you would like an informal discussion or any further information regarding this role, please contact Gillian Quincey, Director of Safeguarding at gillian.quincey@greenwoodacademies.org
