Job Purpose
To support the Management
Accountant and wider finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial
information, including monthly management accounts, budget monitoring and
financial analysis. The post holder will also provide cover across finance
functions and contribute to the implementation of new systems and processes.
This role plays a key part in ensuring financial integrity and supporting the Trust’s
objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of monthly management
accounts and variance analysis for the Trust and its school
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accruals and prepayments

Process
journals and assist with month-end and year-end procedures.

Perform
intercompany account reconciliations and process interbank transfers
·
Record
income and manage transactions of the central bank accounts
·
Prepare
and post payroll journals, including reconciliation of payroll control accounts
·
Assist
in updating financial forecasts and budget monitoring
·
Support
the preparation and submission of monthly VAT returns
·
Ensure
the Trust’s accounting records are accurate and up to date
·
Provide
financial information and support to school administration teams as required
·
Liaise
with and support school business managers in maintaining accurate financial
records
·
Contribute
to the delivery of the Trust’s central finance service
· Undertake other duties commensurate with the grade of the role, under the guidance of the Management Accountant

This role is
based at our central Trust office in Guildford and may involve supporting
schools across the Trust, depending on operational needs. We also offer the flexibility for some
homeworking. We are happy to consider
