Finding Futures is a specialist college that is committed to transforming the lives of young adults with SEND by equipping them with the experience, skills and support they need to enter paid employment and achieve more independent futures.

We have an exciting and unique new opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to join our growing Project SEARCH supported internship team.

Based in the Royal United Hospital (Bath) and the University of Bath, Project SEARCH provides quality work experience placements, coaching, support and guidance to interns aged 16 – 25 with autism and learning difficulties. Young people are supported to develop their independence, confidence, resilience and technical employability skills through varied, individualised work opportunities in a professional environment.

This is not your usual Teaching Assistant position; it is a bespoke role that combines academic/classroom support with administrative responsibilities and the opportunity to develop 'Job Coaching' skills and experience. As a result, this vacancy would suit someone who enjoys variety in their work and who appreciates the opportunity to develop experience and skills in a specialist environment. The work will include:

  •  Supporting quality teaching and learning in the classroom, assisting learners with diverse support needs to access the curriculum
  • Providing personalized 1:1 sessions with interns for pastoral, educational and employability-based support
  • Supporting Project SEARCH operations by carrying out administrative functions
  • In line with the needs of the organisation and cohort, delivering Job Coaching support to learners in the workplace

We are looking for someone with a positive attitude, good organisational skills and a passion to make a lasting difference in the lives of young people. If you have experience of working with young adults with SEND we would be particularly keen to hear from you.

The Partnership Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references, as well as proof of suitable qualifications and a full employment history. We are an equal opportunities employer.
