About this Role

Are you an exceptionally organised, relationship-focused, proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced, purpose-driven environment?

Do you bring experience of working within education and strong transferable skills that will enable our Director of Education to operate at their very best and have an impact on children across our partnership?

Flying High Partnership is seeking a highly capable Personal Assistant to support our Director of Education.

This is an exciting opportunity for:

  • Professionals within education who are highly organised, relational, and confident managing competing priorities
  • Experienced school administrators or trust-based support staff ready to step into a more strategic role impacting on schools across our partnership.
  • Teachers considering a career change who want to remain closely connected to improving outcomes for children while applying their communication, organisational, and professional skills in a new context

You may not have held a formal PA title before, but if you have the skills, judgement, and mindset to operate at this level, we would strongly encourage you to apply.

If you take pride in enabling others to perform at their best within a values-led organisation, this could be your next career-defining role.

About Flying High:

Flying High Partnership is a thriving multi-academy trust of 38 primary schools across Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottingham City, and Nottinghamshire. We are driven by a shared vision to be unique, exceptional, and sustainable.

Founded in 2012, we believe in the power of meaningful collaboration to help schools reach their full potential while supporting others along the way.

Our Partnership celebrates individuality, champions continuous improvement, and ensures every child thrives. With a strong focus on school led professional development and leadership, we are committed to growing exceptional teachers, support staff and inspirational leaders.

Together, we make every day count.

The Role

This is more than a traditional PA position. You will be a trusted partner to the Director of Education, playing a critical role in managing priorities, enabling effective decision-making, and ensuring the smooth running of a complex and fast-moving portfolio.

A strong understanding of the education landscape is essential, whether gained through school based administrative roles, trust experience, teaching or leadership roles. Your insight will enable you to anticipate priorities, manage complexity, and provide high-quality support at a senior level.

You will operate at the heart of our education strategy, working closely with school leaders and central colleagues across the partnership.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Acting as a trusted confidant, handling complex and highly confidential information with discretion
  • Proactively managing an evolving diary, ensuring priorities are clear and time is used strategically
  • Preparing high-quality documentation, briefings, and correspondence to support decision-making
  • Coordinating meetings, visits, and events across multiple schools, ensuring seamless delivery and follow-through
  • Managing travel, logistics, and expenses efficiently
  • Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, representing the Director with professionalism and clarity
  • Anticipating needs, identifying potential pressures, and proactively providing solutions

Working Pattern:

This is a full-time, office-based role working 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday. The role will require travel across our schools and partnership locations, in line with the needs of the Director of Education.

What We Offer

  • A genuinely impactful role supporting educational leadership at scale
  • The opportunity to work closely with senior leaders in a values-driven organisation
  • A strong commitment to your professional development through continuous professional learning (CPL)
  • A supportive, ambitious, and collaborative central team
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including employee discounts and an employee assistance programme
  • Generous annual leave entitlement of 28 days plus bank holidays

About You

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive, and resilient professional who can operate confidently at an executive level.

You will:

  • Bring experience of working within education, or a strong understanding of how schools and trusts operate
  • Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
  • Be highly relational, with the ability to build trust and credibility with a wide range of stakeholders
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills, producing clear, professional documentation
  • Be confident using a range of IT systems and digital tools to manage workflows and maximise efficiency
  • Show strong judgement, discretion, and professionalism, particularly when handling sensitive information
  • Have meticulous attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality work
  • Be self-motivated, solutions-focused, and adaptable, able to anticipate needs and respond to changing priorities
  • Share our commitment to improving outcomes for children and align with our values as a partnership

You may have developed these skills in a variety of roles, including school administration, office management, teaching, school leadership or wider education settings.

Additional Information

Early applications are encouraged, as we reserve the right to interview and appoint before the closing date.

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and post holders to share this commitment. We are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applicants. Applications are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, and marriage and civil partnerships.
