duties and responsibilities listed above describe the post as it is at
present. The post holder is expected to

8. Job Context
The Out of school setting provides care and play for school age children before and after the school day. Breakfast provision starts at 7:30am and after school provision runs until 18:15pm. The setting is regulated by the Ofsted Early Years framework and subject to the Children’s Act (1989).
Holiday Clubs are held during the school year with three weeks of Holiday Club in the summer.
10. Knowledge, Experience and Training
·
At
least Level 3 Qualification in Play work or equivalent essential. Higher
qualification desirable;
·
Previous
experience of providing care and activities within a childcare, play or educational
environment;
·
Management
experience;
·
Experience
of supervision of staff;
·
Experience
of planning and organising a programme of activities;
·
Computer
literate and competent in Office Word & Excel is essential;
·
Good
communication skills;
·
Knowledge
of child development and the role of play;
·
Knowledge
of Safeguarding and Child Protection;
·
Knowledge
of health and safety and welfare issues within a childcare environment;
·
Excellent
interpersonal skills including the ability to develop effective relationships with
staff and parents;
·
Recognise
the need to maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
