We’re looking for a creative and enthusiastic Art and Design Lecturer to join our amazing Creative Arts team at South Staffordshire College.

You’ll be working with talented students and colleagues in a department known for its strong achievement rates and supportive atmosphere. With access to fantastic creative facilities, you’ll help learners build their skills, confidence, and creativity.

Whether you’re already teaching or bringing industry experience into the classroom for the first time, this is a great chance to make a real impact and inspire the next generation of artists and designers.

The role will include teaching across the general Art and Design pathway, so we are looking for someone with a broad creative skillset and the confidence to support learners across 2D, 3D and 4D practice. This could include drawing, painting, print, mixed media, sculpture, installation, digital processes, lens-based work, time-based media and creative experimentation.

You will help students explore ideas, develop practical techniques and build a strong portfolio of work that reflects their individual creative direction.

The successful candidate must also have a relevant teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.

All applications must be received by: Monday 6th July 2026

Shortlisting date: Tuesday 7th July 2026

Biographical Interviews to be held (if applicable): Friday 10th July 2026

Panel Interviews to be held: Tuesday 14th and 15th July 2026

What you can expect from us - we care about your wellbeing so have several activities all year that provide support.  However, time off is also important.  We have a generous holiday scheme, the usual Bank Holidays, an additional 5 days at Christmas and 2 ‘ME’ days (where you can have a day off work and do whatever makes you happy) as well as an additional day on campus spent on wellbeing.  We have a range of benefits available to all staff including paid time off for emergencies (designed to support carers) and all our policies are enhanced further than statutory requirements.  The College also contributes to your pension at a minimum of 20.9% (we contribute more for people in the Local Government Pension Scheme).
