Nursery Manager / Deputy Manager
To provide high-quality care, education, and support to children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), ensuring a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment where every child can develop and thrive.
Deliver high-quality early years care and education in accordance with the EYFS framework
Plan, observe, and assess children’s learning and development, contributing to individual learning journeys
Support children’s emotional, social, physical, and intellectual development
Act as a key person for a group of children, building secure and trusting relationships
Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment at all times
Follow safeguarding and child protection policies and procedures
Carry out daily risk assessments and ensure health and safety standards are met
Promote good hygiene, healthy eating, and positive behaviour
Build positive, professional relationships with parents and carers
Share information about children’s progress, routines, and wellbeing
Support parent partnerships and encourage parental involvement
Work effectively as part of a team to deliver outstanding childcare
Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision
Maintain accurate records and documentation
Uphold nursery policies, procedures, and values at all times
Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare / Early Years (or equivalent)
Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Paediatric First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting
Knowledge of SEND and inclusive practice
Experience as a key person
Food hygiene or safeguarding training
Caring, patient, and enthusiastic
