Speech And Language Therapist at TCES North West London

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Speech and Language Therapist to join our brand new site opening in Ealing Broadway this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a service from the very start, shaping therapeutic provision as the school establishes itself and helping to build its culture, systems and reputation from the ground up. This is a term-time plus 2 weeks role, where you will deliver therapeutic provision as part of the school's clinical team.

The role has been created to provide speech and language assessments and interventions to children and young people, working individually and in small groups with pupils who have significant trauma and adverse childhood experiences, delivered through a nurturing approach. As one of the founding members of the therapy team, you'll have real scope to make your mark — helping to shape how the therapy service runs, contributing to service design, and building strong foundations for the years ahead.

The role will suit a therapist who is flexible, practical and excited by the challenge of a new site, including supporting pupils through online therapeutic delivery as well as in-person work, and those with complex neurodiversity or high levels of anxiety/school phobia who require significant support to develop independence. You'll work closely with specialist staff and teachers to meet the needs of the young people you support, providing a specialised contribution to pupils' clinical assessment and therapeutic treatment as part of a wider therapeutic offer.

Our new Ealing Broadway site supports individuals facing barriers in education, including those with SEND, complex needs and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA), many of whom have experienced extended time away from learning.

Through specialist speech and language assessment and intervention, expert training and partnership with staff and families, we strengthen wellbeing, rebuild engagement and create inclusive environments where young people can succeed.

Essential requirements to be successful in the role are:

• Hold a recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent, with HCPC Licence to Practice.
• Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Minimum of 3 years' post-qualification experience, 2 of which are within relevant areas of specialism, such as high-risk behaviour, Tier 3/4 mental health needs, school phobia/anxiety disorders, CLA pupils, or complex health needs.
• Substantial experience of working with highly complex and high-risk children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) and/or on the Autistic Spectrum.
• A high level of experience of multi-disciplinary and inter-agency working.
• Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance, audit and research.
• Confidence working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and contributing to shared plans, risk discussions and safeguarding processes.
• Ability to plan and organise own workload, working flexibly and creatively, with resilience as a robust role model.
• An entrepreneurial, can-do attitude and enthusiasm for helping to establish a new service.
