About this Role

Chief Operating Officer – Chiltern Learning Trust and Inspiring Futures through Learning

Hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary: £115,000 – 135,000 per annum

Start Date: September 2026

Contract type: Full time, Permanent

Closing Date: Wednesday 8th July 2026 at 9.00am

Are you an inspirational, forward-thinking leader looking for a career-defining opportunity?

In May 2026, Chiltern Learning Trust (CLT) and Inspiring Futures through Learning (IFtL) submitted a formal application to the Department for Education to merge. We are now seeking a highly skilled and motivated Chief Operating Officer to bring together best practices, establish excellent systems, and provide outstanding strategic leadership for our combined operations across 42 schools.

This role has been strategically designed to provide operational leadership across both organisations regardless of the outcome of the DfE's decision. In the unlikely event that the merger does not proceed, the successful applicant will continue to lead and support collaborative working across both highly regarded trusts.

As a crucial member of a fast-paced, dynamic senior leadership team, you will closely support the CEO and work with the executive boards to deliver shared strategic priorities. You will provide strategic oversight across:

  • Estates
  • Health & Safety
  • Risk Management
  • IT and Data
  • Growth and Admissions

The closing date for applications is Wednesday 8th July 2026 at 9.00am. Interviews will be held week commencing 13th July 2026.

If you wish to discuss the post further, please contact pa.ceo@chilternlearningtrust.org to arrange a conversation with our CEO, Adrian Rogers.

Our Trusts are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.

CVs will not be accepted.
