Castleford Trust is seeking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Trust Catering Manager to support the strategic leadership and operational delivery of our Trust-wide catering service. We are looking for a proactive and resilient professional who can build strong relationships and drive high standards across multiple sites.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping and developing a high-quality, compliant, and efficient catering service across our academies. Our delivery model enables school leaders to focus on educational excellence, while ensuring pupils benefit from nutritious, well-managed food provision.
Working closely with the Trust Catering Manager and wider Trust leadership, you will support the delivery of a consistent, high-standard catering service across all sites. You will contribute to both strategic planning and hands-on operational management, ensuring compliance, quality, and continuous improvement.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the strategic development and day-to-day management of the Trust catering service
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, health and safety, and statutory regulations (including COSHH and HACCP)
- Overseeing menu planning, food quality, and service standards
- Supporting contract management, including maintenance of catering equipment
- Monitoring performance, supporting the implementation of quality assurance processes, and driving service improvements
- Supporting, training, and developing catering teams across the Trust including day to day service provision support as required
You will bring:
- Significant experience delivering a high-quality catering service in an educational or commercial setting
- Proven experience developing and implementing catering strategies, policies, and procedures
- Strong understanding of catering legislation and regulatory frameworks, including food safety and health and safety
- Experience of quality assurance, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement
- A track record of supporting and developing staff and teams
- A strong skill set in food preparation and cooking to enable good quality nutritious meals.
