We are looking for an Academy Improvement Lead to play a pivotal role in strengthening outcomes, culture and leadership across our academies. Working trust-wide and alongside Headteachers, governors and central teams, this role is about turning ambition into sustained, measurable improvement for children and young people. Academy Improvement Leads in ALT combine sharp educational insight with relational leadership, supporting leaders to embed high expectations, secure high-quality teaching and learning, and build robust, inclusive systems that enable schools to thrive. Rooted in our belief that people matter and collaboration drives improvement, this is an opportunity to lead change with integrity, clarity and purpose, contributing not just to individual academies, but to the strength of the Trust and the wider system.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and secure sustained improvement in standards, outcomes and culture across allocated academies, in line with Trust priorities.
  • Work in close partnership with Headteachers to embed high-quality teaching, learning, assessment and curriculum practice.
  • Strengthen leadership capacity through coaching, challenge, robust accountability and professional development.
  • Ensure strong systems for behaviour, attendance, safeguarding, finance and operational effectiveness.
  • Report clearly on academy performance and contribute to wider Trust improvement and sector collaboration.
