Nursery Assistant 

Merry Poppets Nursery, based in the heart of Flitwick, is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Nursery Assistant to join our team on a full-time or part-basis.

This role involves supporting our qualified practitioners in providing high-quality care and education to the children attending our setting. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about helping children learn, develop, and thrive in a safe and nurturing environment.

About You

Experience and knowledge of working within an Early Years setting are desirable but not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided to help you succeed in your role.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be caring, reliable, and enthusiastic.
  • Have a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
  • Work effectively as part of a team.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support practitioners in providing high-quality care and education.
  • Observe children and help extend their learning through planned activities that meet their individual needs and interests.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
  • Work in partnership with parents, carers, family members, and colleagues to continually improve the quality of care and education provided.
  • Help ensure that children are kept safe and that safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times.
  • Contribute to creating a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.

Hours of Work

  • Full and Part-time position
  • 3-5 days per week
  • 8:00am – 6:00pm
  • Year-round position
