A rare and compelling leadership opportunity

St Clare Catholic Multi Academy Trust is seeking an exceptional and mission-driven leader to join our Executive Team as Executive Director of Education.

This is a pivotal role at an exciting stage in the Trust’s development. Having laid strong foundations over our first four years, we are now focused on strengthening capacity, deepening impact and ensuring every child receives an excellent, inclusive and distinctively Catholic education.

Our mission

Our purpose is clear: that every child leaves our schools with a profound understanding of themselves, their worth, and the unique role they play in building the Kingdom of God.

Rooted in Catholic Social Teaching, we are guided by:

  • Subsidiarity – empowering local leadership and decision-making

  • Solidarity – providing timely, collective support across our schools

  • The Common Good – placing our shared gifts at the service of all children, especially the most vulnerable

About the role

Working closely with the CEO and Executive Directors, you will provide strategic leadership for standards, curriculum, and system improvement across the Trust

You will:

  • Lead a coherent, high-quality curriculum from Early Years to Post-16

  • Drive accurate self-evaluation and impactful improvement planning

  • Build leadership capacity at all levels

  • Ensure sector-leading safeguarding and inclusive practice

  • Deliver rapid and sustained improvement, particularly in schools needing additional support

You will also play a central role in ensuring the Catholic life and mission of our schools remains at the heart of all we do.

What we are looking for

We are seeking a leader who:

  • Is a committed practicing Catholic with a clear vision for Catholic education

  • Brings substantial senior leadership experience with a strong track record of school improvement, particularly in the primary phase

  • Demonstrates deep expertise in curriculum, assessment and school performance and experience of system level thinking

  • Is passionate about inclusion, safeguarding and improving outcomes for disadvantaged and SEND pupils

  • Has the ability to inspire, influence and build strong partnerships across the system

Above all, you will bring moral purpose, integrity, and a relentless commitment to excellence for every child.

Why join St Clare CMAT?

  • Be part of a Trust with a clear moral purpose and strong Catholic identity

  • Shape the future of education across a growing and ambitious Trust

  • Work alongside a collaborative and values-driven Executive Team

  • Make a meaningful difference to children, families and communities
