Permanent Part-time 37 hours per week over 39 weeks per year

Salary: Grade 5

£31,015  - £33,673 Annually (FTE), £26,750 – £29,042 (Dependant on continuous service)


About this Role

School location is St Patrick's Catholic Primary School, Barnsley Road, Sheffield. S5 0QF.  Candidates may be required to work within other schools, in our trust, as and when needed.

 The HLTA will:

Work closely with the SENDCo to:

  • produce intervention resources.
  • monitor attendance and provide appropriate interventions.
  • monitor SEND students behaviour & suspension data and provide appropriate intervention resources.
  • Manage a provision to support SEND students to re-integrate into the mainstream classroom.

The Governors require a HLTA with the following skills/attributes:

  • Fully support the Catholic ethos of the school. 
  • Being highly motivated and self-driven.
  • Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs
  • Be open to challenge in order to continue developing skills. 
  • Be first aid trained (or willing to go on the relevant training)

The Governors of St Patrick’s Primary School are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. The applicants will undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers. The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. The role is engaged in regulated activity and will therefore require a children’s barred list check.  Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a self-disclosure.
