About this Role

About this Role

The Progragram

We are training the next generation of teachers who will ensure every child can live a life of choice and opportunity across South West London.

You will spend a minimum of 24 weeks on school placements. This time is spread across at least 2 schools. You will also spend time in a location to study.

In-school teaching (4 days a week) - you will be: planning for, preparing and delivering lessons; observing and supporting the lessons of other teachers; and taking part in the day to day running of the school.

You will be on-site 5 days a week (Monday-Friday).

In-house training days (1 day a week) - seminar and lecture style sessions and live practice that cover teaching theory, teaching techniques, pedagogy and academic literature (including ‘guest lectures’ from expert practitioners).

Course Costs and Funding

Course Costs

Reach Teacher Training is an unsalaried route into teaching to gain your QTS or QTS with PGCE.

  • QTS Only – £8535

  • QTS with PGCE – £9535

How can I fund my training?

Government Bursaries

Bursaries are tax-free payments you receive if you’re training to teach certain subjects.  Scholarships are awarded by organisations with a passion for their subject area. They combine tax-free payments with extra benefits.

Student Finance

Many trainees are eligible to apply for a student finance to cover tuition fees and living costs on top of these bursaries.

Self Finance

If you have the means you are welcome to finance your teacher training yourself.  If you self-finance you may still apply for the Reach Teacher Training bursary.

The Department for Education (DfE) require all post-graduate ITT candidates to meet the following criteria before they enrol on an ITT programme.

  • GCSEs - 4 (C) or above in English & Maths (+ a Science if you want to teach Primary)

  • Degree - A Bachelor’s degree at 2:2 or above

About us

Reach Teacher Training

Reach Teacher Training is part of Reach Schools, a small trust of two schools: Reach Academy Feltham and Reach Academy Hanworth Park, where most of our trainee teachers will get classroom experience. For more than a decade, we have trained and developed some of the best teachers in the country.

We’re equipping the next generation of teachers who will commit to a shared vision: to see every child enjoy a life of choice and opportunity.

When you join Reach, you join more than a teacher training programme, more than a school – you are joining a community, a team, and a family. We look forward to welcoming you to our team.

Why Train with us ?

Reach Teacher Training prioritises small cohorts, is led by teachers who are still in the classroom, and has an exceptional track record of producing great teachers who change lives.

Reach Schools (our parent organisation) was founded because we believe passionately that all young people, regardless of background, can achieve great things. Our goal is to provide all of our pupils with the opportunity to go to university if they wish and to live happy, healthy and productive lives.

We believe in the power of an all-through education led by excellent educators and value excellent relationships.

We pride ourselves on innovation: incremental and radical progress that enables us to train the next generation of great teachers. Our Offsite Intensive at Jamie’s Farm provides an unrivalled start to the programme and teachers from around the globe visit our schools to find out more about how we train great teachers.

Our trainees are fully embedded in the school and broader community to deeply ground their practice. This is what makes us an incredible place to start your teaching career and to decide if this is the right career for you.

The Offsite Intensive - On 25th – 26th August 2026, we will be offering an overnight Offsite intensive at Jamie’s Farm. This is where your Reach Teacher Training journey takes shape: an immersive two days to build trust, belonging, and the habits of great teaching. This Offsite Intensive is all about forging connections, setting norms, and beginning your journey to transform lives. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet the rest of the team, build trust and belonging, practice the habits of great teaching, step into your purpose and gain an overview of the year ahead. This experience mirrors what we stand for at Reach Teacher Training.

Our Partners - SCITT (School-centred teacher training)

Training at Reach through SCITT means you receive on-site training, school and classroom experience every single day, support from mentors and surrounding teachers, experience subject and phase CPD’s, a chance to lean in and gain further experience in other lessons and observations of skilled and experienced teachers and training amongst past ITT’s who can share their wisdom and advice from their own journey.

Our trainees are fully embedded in the school and broader community to deeply ground their practice. We firmly believe that cultivating strong relations with students, staff and families is crucial.

This is what makes us an incredible place to start your teaching career and to decide if this is the right career for you. We are unwavering in our belief that every child can succeed and that relationships and community are at the centre of this. Our Internship, much like our ITT programme, follows the same model: small cohorts, excellent education & outstanding opportunities. You will be learning from exceptional teachers who are making a real difference in the community they serve.
