The Overdale Schools are seeking to appoint an Operational SENDCo to work across two schools within its family of five schools. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering our SEND strategy across two schools.
We are looking for a passionate and committed individual who is dedicated to making a meaningful difference to the lives of pupils with SEND. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting colleagues and ensuring that every child receives the guidance and provision they need to succeed.
As Operational SENDCo, you will work closely with the SENDCo to implement the Trust’s SEND strategy and oversee provision for students with SEND. You will lead and line manage a skilled team of Teaching Assistants, ensuring that staff are effectively deployed to provide high-quality support for pupils. The role will also involve developing curriculum resources and personalised learning plans to ensure that all pupils with SEND can access the support they require.
You will be responsible for coordinating review meetings, working collaboratively with external agencies, and supporting pupils through important transition stages. In addition, you will act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead and help maintain the highest standards of safeguarding practice across the schools.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working within SEND provision as well as experience of leading and managing a team. A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice 0–25 is essential, alongside excellent communication, organisational and ICT skills.
