About this Role

The Pinnacle Learning Trust was established in 2017 as a result of the long-standing, strong and effective relationship between The Hathershaw College and Oldham Sixth Form College.  Werneth Primary School joined the Trust in February 2019.   Our work is built upon our shared belief that young people in Oldham and the local area should have access to excellent educational provision. This includes supporting staff through our nationally recognised and respected professional development offer and accreditation as an Associate Research School and EdTech Demonstrator School status, along with our role as a key partner in the local Teaching School Hub, all of which provide support both within and beyond the Trust.

1st Line IT Support Technician

Full Time, Full Year, to start as soon as possible.

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic 1st Line IT Support Technician to join our IT Services Team, supporting staff and students across the trust. The role is central to maintaining a safe, effective, and up-to-date IT environment and will be based at The Hathershaw College.

The post will involve providing a professional, high-quality first-line IT support service to staff and students, assisting with day-to-day technical issues and helping to ensure systems operate smoothly. You will be involved in installing software, setting up and maintaining PC hardware, and troubleshooting Windows-based systems and peripherals. Experience supporting Google Workspace and Chromebooks would be advantageous.

The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of Windows and PC hardware, along with experience resolving IT issues. You will be organised, adaptable, and able to remain calm under pressure, with strong communication skills and a positive, customer-focused approach. You should be a quick learner who works well as part of a team.

This role would particularly suit someone looking to start out in a career in IT support, offering valuable hands-on experience within a supportive team environment and opportunities to develop technical skills and professional confidence.

Salary: Points 6-9 of the Sixth Form College’s Support Staff pay spine which is currently £25,558 - £26,818.
