Internal Secondment Opportunity – One Term


SEND Job Coach

Grade: OUTL5 (Points 12–15)
Hours: 36 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Contract: One term secondment (term time + 3 weeks, pro rata)
Location: King George Hospital
Reporting to: Post-16 Lead

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and motivated colleague for a one-term internal secondment as a SEND Job Coach, supporting our Project SEARCH provision.

This is an excellent development opportunity for someone who is committed to improving outcomes for young people with SEND, with a particular focus on supporting them into meaningful employment. You will play a key role in enabling students to develop independence, confidence, and employability skills within real workplace settings. 

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Support young people with SEND in workplace environments, delivering individualised job coaching and skills training
  • Help students identify their strengths, interests, and employment goals
  • Work closely with employers to identify suitable job opportunities and support workplace integration
  • Deliver structured coaching, including systematic instruction and employability skills development
  • Conduct job and task analyses to ensure appropriate job matching
  • Support students with applications, interviews, CV writing, and transition into employment
  • Liaise with families, colleagues, employers, and external partners including DWP and support agencies
  • Monitor and track student progress, contributing to reporting and evaluation
  • Promote inclusive practice and ensure appropriate reasonable adjustments are implemented in the workplace

Experience in supported employment, job coaching, or systematic instruction is desirable but not essential.
