About this Role

SEND Leader

Contract Type: 1 year secondment

Pay Scale: L8-12

Hours: 1 day per week

Closing Date: midday Friday 3rd July 2026

We are seeking to appoint two experienced and highly skilled SENCos to take on the role of Hub SEND Leaders, working alongside the Director of SEND (Mainstream) to strengthen provision across our trust. These strategic roles will provide one day-per-week support in either the North or South hub (0.2 FTE each) or both hubs (0.4 FTE combined), building capacity, consistency and expertise across schools.

What you'll be doing:

- Provide one day per week in your allocated hub (North or South) or two days per week if covering both hubs, working alongside the Director of SEND (Mainstream) to     implement trust SEND strategy.

- Build capacity in schools through coaching and mentoring for new and developing SENCos, supporting leadership of inclusive classroom practice and adaptive             teaching.

- Deliver high-quality, evidence-informed CPD and lead hub meetings to share good practice and standardise approaches.

- Support early intervention and the development of school-level SEND leadership to reduce escalation and improve outcomes.

- Act as the trust link with local authority teams and local partnerships: attend meetings, share local intelligence and lead locality initiatives where needed.

- Ensure consistent oversight of provision using the trust’s tools and processes (Whole Education, TES Provision Map, Learning Journeys) and support schools to use    those tools effectively.

- Contribute to policy review, provision improvement plans and the sharing of resources across the trust.

What we're looking for

Essential

- Minimum three years’ experience as an SENCo or Inclusion Lead.

- National SENCo Qualification or an equivalent credential.

- Strong knowledge of SEND pedagogy, graduated response and inclusion in mainstream settings.

- Experience of coaching colleagues and delivering CPD to staff teams.

- Ability to build relationships with school leaders, LA officers and external partners.

- Willingness and ability to travel across schools in the hub(s) and to attend meetings with external partners.

Desirable

- Experience using Whole Education, TES Provision Map and Learning Journeys or equivalent provision/monitoring tools.

- Prior experience operating across more than one school or within a multi-academy trust.

- Experience of contributing to strategic SEND policy or trust-wide implementation plans.

About the team

You will work directly with the Director of SEND (Mainstream) and support new and developing SENCos across the North or South hub. The role is practice-focussed: you will spend time in schools, lead hub meetings, and act as an operational bridge between individual school SENCos and trust-level SEND leadership.
