Salary: NJC points 2–5, adjusted for u21 rate
Responsible to: Finance AP Team Leader

Are you a school leaver looking to start your career in finance? Enrich Learning Trust is looking for a motivated and organised Finance Intern to join our central Finance Team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical workplace experience, develop finance and administration skills, and learn how financial processes support schools across the Trust.

About the role

Working as part of the Trust Finance Team on a 3-month fixed-term contract, you will provide support and assistance to schools and the central trust. You will help maintain accurate records of income and expenditure and work in line with the Trust’s financial policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities

·         Support the management of Finance Team email accounts, taking action or redirecting queries as needed.

·         Process invoices for payment, including checking details, matching to purchase orders where required, and confirming authorisation.

·         Assist with credit control, statement reviews, purchasing queries, cash counting, ticketing systems and other basic finance tasks.

·         Investigate finance queries and escalate unreconciled accounts to the Finance Officer or Team Leader.

·         File and scan finance documents accurately, both electronically and physically where required.

·         Support the preparation of financial reports, statements and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

·         Assist with month-end and year-end processes, including responding to auditor information requests.

What we are looking for

·         A positive and professional attitude, with a willingness to learn.

·         Good attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with information and figures.

·         Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks effectively.

·         Good communication skills and confidence in asking questions when support is needed.

·         An interest in finance, administration and working within the education sector.

·         A commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following Trust policies and procedures.

What we can offer

·         Hands-on experience within a busy and supportive finance team.

·         Training and development to help build confidence and workplace skills.

·         Exposure to a wide range of finance processes across schools and the central trust.

·         A friendly, professional environment where you will be encouraged to learn and contribute.

·         The opportunity to build a strong foundation for a future career in finance or business administration.

·         We expect this intern role to convert to an apprenticeship for the right candidate but there will be a 2nd recruitment process for the apprenticeship role.

We look forward to hearing from you
