We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated School and Community Sports Coach to join our Central Team. This varied and rewarding role combines delivery within schools during term time with the development of community and commercial sports activities outside the academic year.
About the Role
The post has two key elements:
- School-based delivery (term time) across Primary and Secondary schools within the Trust
- Community and commercial sports development during school holidays
The role is mobile, with a fixed timetable and clear objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Schools
- Deliver high‑quality PE lessons
- Provide mentoring and coaching, including small-group and one‑to‑one pupil support
- Lead after‑school clubs and enrichment activities
- Deliver Forest School provision (desirable)
- Provide cover supervision and appropriate activities as required
Secondary Schools
- Coordinate, develop and deliver enrichment activities supporting the sustainability of Opening School Facilities (OSF) grants
- Provide mentoring and coaching for individuals and small groups
- Support targeted activity provision using OSF equipment, including for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
Community & Commercial Delivery (Non‑Term Time)
Outside the academic year, you will support the Commercial Department, helping grow community engagement and revenue‑generating activities to support the Trust’s future development.
This may include evening and weekend work.
Community Activity
- Deliver Holiday, Activities and Food (HAF/FUEL) programmes during Christmas, Easter and Summer holidays
- Develop community‑based activity programmes using OSF equipment
- Work collaboratively with local partner organisations on community projects
Commercial Activity
In collaboration with the Lettings Manager, support the growth of our commercial offer by:
- Delivering sports‑themed birthday parties and events
- Working with external sporting organisations (e.g. Football Foundation)
- Delivering corporate team‑building activities using equipment such as Bubble Football, Tag Archery and Inflatable Assault Courses
About You
We are keen to hear from qualified sports coaches who:
- Are enthusiastic about working with children and the wider community
- Have excellent communication skills
- Can deliver sessions to clear objectives while adapting to different environments
- Build positive relationships with a wide range of adults and young people
- Are forward‑thinking and innovative, with the confidence to bring new ideas to the organisation
- Are excited by the growth of non‑traditional and alternative sporting activities
