Think
about the kind of education you believe in. If you believe every child deserves
a genuine opportunity to thrive, in classrooms where their language,
background, experiences and individuality are valued, then this role may be for
you.
We
are a four-school primary Multi Academy Trust based in Watford, serving more
than 1,500 children. Our schools reflect the rich diversity of our community,
and we are proud to serve families with a wide range of strengths, stories and
aspirations. We believe that inclusive, skilled and creative teaching
transforms lives, not by overcoming barriers, but by recognising potential.
Our
Trust was built on a clear and simple belief - happy children and young people
learn, happy staff thrive and happy people build communities. Everything we do
flows from that conviction.
We're
recruiting a Director of Education to join our central trust team. You'll work
directly with the CEO and COO as part of the executive leadership team, shaping
the direction of the whole organisation. You'll also provide hands on support to
teaching staff and line management, coaching and guidance to headteachers.
The
CEO, COO, and Director of Education will work closely together, so you'll be
involved in decisions about everything from local governance to safeguarding to
digital strategy to inclusion. At the same time, you'll be the educational
expert who supports headteachers tackle the practical realities. How do we
assess children who've just arrived with no English? What does a curriculum
look like that actually serves our communities? How do we develop teachers so
they become the best they can be?
Our
four headteachers are talented, experienced and deeply committed to their
communities. In this role, you will work alongside them as a trusted partner, designing
systems together, solving complex problems collaboratively, and strengthening
practice across the Trust. We are seeking a senior leader with substantial
experience in education, most likely a former headteacher, or someone who has
worked in a central Trust role. You will have deep expertise in curriculum
design and pedagogy grounded in years of excellent teaching and leadership in
diverse or complex contexts. You will be able to articulate a clear and
compelling educational vision while remaining flexible and responsive to how
that vision is realised in different schools. Above all, you will think
contextually, listen carefully, and build solutions from the ground up, with a
genuine commitment to long-term equity for our communities. The central team
exists to enable schools to flourish and remove barriers to excellence – never
to create unnecessary bureaucracy.
We
are proud to be the first MAT in the country to be awarded Nurture UK's
National Nurturing Schools accreditation across all our schools. We won the MAT
Excellence Award for Equity, Diversity and Inclusion last year. Staff turnover
dropped from 40% to 19% because we've created places where people want to work.
We take technology seriously but only when it serves human connection and
dignity. We're small, deliberate and doing things for our community.
As
part of the central team, you'll help us continue doing that. Real influence
over where the trust goes. Freedom to innovate. Proper collaboration with
people who care about getting it right.
The
Inclusive Multi Academy Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the
welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. This post
is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
