About this Role

Premises Assistant – Twickenham & Ham Hub

Location: Twickenham & Ham Hub (across three sites)
Salary: NJC Scale 5 (Sp 12–17) £32,535 FTE pa

Contracted Hours: This role is offered on a full-time basis (36 hours per week, 52 weeks per year), with flexibility to work hours or term-time plus arrangements. Salary will be pro rata to reflect your agreed working pattern.

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and proactive Premises Assistant to join our Trust and support our Twickenham & Ham Hub sites. This is a varied, hands-on role where you will play a key part in ensuring that our school environments are safe, clean, secure, and well-maintained.

Working closely with the Premises Manager and wider team, you will support the day-to-day running of site operations across multiple locations, helping to maintain high standards for our pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key responsibilities

  • Supporting the upkeep and maintenance of buildings, facilities, and grounds
  • Carrying out basic repairs and reporting any defects or issues
  • Assisting with health and safety checks, including fire and safety systems
  • Helping to maintain clean, safe, and well-organised learning environments
  • Supporting room set-ups for events, activities, and lettings
  • Assisting with site security, including opening and closing buildings
  • Working across multiple sites to ensure consistency and responsiveness
  • Supporting contractors on-site and ensuring procedures are followed

What we’re looking for

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in a practical role such as maintenance, caretaking, or facilities
  • Has basic DIY and repair skills
  • Understands the importance of health and safety
  • Is reliable, flexible, and able to work across different sites
  • Communicates well and works effectively as part of a team
  • Has basic IT skills

Experience working in a school environment and/or a full driving licence would be advantageous, but not essential.
