About this Role

We are now inviting volunteer applications for this academic year and warmly welcome anyone to apply to join us as a volunteer within the Auriga schools - Clarendon, Capella or Strathmore.

Volunteers in education settings help to improve the learning experience, and often have an impact even after they have left. They aren't accountable for the outcomes of the children they work with in the same way that teachers are, meaning that their roles can offer a way to work in education without the pressure of a permanent job.

Volunteers might be parents, college or university students, or other adults in the local area — you don't need any experience working with children in order to become one.

If you feel you can contribute to our continuing success, we would be pleased to hear from you. The Trust is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and welcomes applications from under-represented groups within the community.

Application Process
1. Apply via our online application form using the 'Apply for Job' button below.
2. You will need to complete: General Details, Work Eligibility, Secondary/Further Education (at least one entry),  References, Equal Opportunities Monitoring, Personal Statement and Declaration. This information is required in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024. (Please see document  below for shorter applications)
3. If we have a suitable volunteer opportunity, you will be contacted by the HR Team, who will carry out the requisite safeguarding checks and will arrange a meeting with the Head of School to discuss and confirm the details of your volunteer role.

All roles within the Trust are subject to a satisfactory enhanced disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). and all volunteers will be obliged to produce their right to work or stay in the UK documentation, and we will request a minimum of two satisfactory references.

The Auriga Academy Trust and its schools are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful application will be required to undertake and Enhanced DBS Check with a check of the DBS Barred List.

The Auriga Academy Trust would like all candidates to answer specific questions for the personal statement section. For reference, here is a preview of the questions/headings:

  1. In one paragraph, please tell us why you would like to join our team?
  2. In one paragraph, please tell us what you have to offer us?
  3. Which school are you looking to join?
  4. If you have any children currently attending, please tell us their names and the classes they are in.
