About this Role

We are seeking to appoint a Trustee to join the Board of King's Group Academies, bringing specialist expertise in cyber security and digital risk.

As a Trustee, you will play a key strategic role in shaping the direction of the Trust, ensuring strong governance, and holding senior leaders to account for educational and organisational performance.  You will contribute to Board and committee discussions, helping to ensure the Trust delivers on its mission to provide Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage.

In addition, you will provide valuable insight and challenge in relation to cyber security, data protection, and digital resilience.  This includes supporting the Board to understand emerging risks, ensuring appropriate safeguards are in place, and strengthening oversight of the Trust's digital infrastructure and information governance.

This is a voluntary role with reasonable expenses reimbursed.  The time commitment includes approximately six Board meetings per year, committee involvement, and preparation time.

About you

You will have strong experience or knowledge of cyber security, digital risk, or information governance, being able to apply this expertise at a strategic governance level.

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Experience in cyber securityIT risk, data protection, or a related field.
  • The ability to translate technical or specialist risks into clear strategic insight.
  • Sound judgement and the confidence to provide constructive challenge at Board level.
  • An understanding of governance, risk, and compliance in complex organisations.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and improving outcomes for children and young people.

You do not need previous Trustee experience, but you should be able to think strategically, ask effective questions, and work collaboratively as part of a Board of Trustees.

Above all, you will share our values of Honesty, Faith, and Courage, and be motivated by the opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of young people.
