About this Role

This is a key cross-Trust role, supporting safe, compliant and effective learning environments. The successful candidate will provide professional support to schools and site teams, maintain accurate and auditable compliance records, monitor and escalate estates-related risk, and provide assurance to senior leaders and Trustees that legal duties are being met.

The role will also contribute to capital programmes, procurement activity, estates strategy implementation, sustainability objectives and longer-term estates risk management. The postholder will be required to support and travel to all Maiden Erlegh Trust schools.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• take operational responsibility for estates-related statutory compliance across the Trust
• maintain accurate, auditable compliance records and certification for all Trust schools
• support schools with risk assessments, compliance procedures and safe systems of work
• provide professional guidance to School Site Managers on statutory compliance and risk management
• act as a key point of contact for estates compliance and health and safety matters
• undertake regular site-based compliance and health and safety inspections
• monitor and track remedial actions, ensuring timely closure of risks
• support internal and external estates compliance and health and safety audits
• prepare compliance reports, dashboards and assurance information for senior leaders and Trustees
• manage compliance arrangements relating to fire safety, asbestos, legionella, gas safety, electrical safety, lifting equipment and work equipment
• work with external advisors and compliance systems, including Iam Compliant and Pharos Response
• support safe and compliant contractor engagement
• contribute to Trust capital projects, maintenance programmes, procurement processes and sustainability initiatives

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who can bring strong estates compliance knowledge, sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach. The successful candidate will understand the importance of safe and compliant school environments and will be able to work effectively with school leaders, site teams, contractors, external advisors and Trust colleagues.

The ideal candidate will be well organised, confident in managing compliance records and audit trails, and able to monitor, report and escalate risk appropriately. They will be able to promote consistency across multiple sites, support colleagues with professional guidance, and contribute to a positive health and safety culture across the Trust.

They will also be able to build strong professional relationships, support collaborative working and contribute to improvement across a diverse Trust estate.
